Possible origins of Peter Cornelius Hoof

Yvonne Lenders of The Hague, Holland, just sent me this totally awesome work she did on the possible origins of the pirate Peter Cornelius Hoof.
If you’ll remember, when he testified before his trial for piracy in Boston in 1717, he said he was “about” 34 years old. So it’s entirely possible he was one year older or younger than that.
Yvonne said I could put this on the blog. I’m really excited to have this fantastic information!
Hopefully somewhere out there someone may just have some additional information to help continue to trace Peter’s family!

Thanks so much Yvonne!

A special date coming up… 15 November 2017. I have tried to find the date on which Peter could have been born, to learn more of his family and circumstances.  The trouble with Swedish births is that (usually) there is no specific family name, but ‘son of’, so I found a lot of Nilsons.

The one I like best 😊 is ‘Corneliusson’, but it makes Peter a year younger than his ‘reccorded ‘age. This is what I found so far:
